Digital Flyers wanted us to help improve their website so business owners and promoters can add flyers and attach all their information to it and end-users can filter to search for what they want.
I wanted to help digital flyers improve their website with the goals in mind of consumers wanting to try new and different experiences and find events seamlessly when using Digital Flier. And Business owners want a convenient and intuitive system/website that helps them create and keep track of products so that they can promote their business and events.
Right now the home page only showcases event flyers and not business flyers. Also, the organization of the flyers could be improved. A participant stated how they want to see not just event flyers but also business flyers. We recommend adding both the event and business flyers to the homepage and adding dates so it's more digestible.
As for business users the main focus is when adding a flier. The flyers page requests exact information like adding URLs which can intimidate users and makes them feel like they should have a URL (where it's not required) . We recommend adding (optional) to parts that are optional and making it so you get a visible indicator if you haven't input essential information. and when asked to select a package, the participant did not understand what the packages offered so we recommend showing more exact descriptive information like “covers only saint paul'' or “covers areas both in st paul and Minneapolis''
By Implementing the findings from the research I created a prototype that improved the home page where consumers can browse and explore events and made the process for business owners wanting to make a flyer and promote themselves easier.
The next step for this project would be to try A/B testing on my prototype to see what works on the original site and implement it on my prototype and what doe works on mine. I would like to also work more on my prototype and improve things so that will developers understand what I was trying to do.
